³⁹ Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, stop your disciples from saying these things.’

⁴⁰ ‘Let me tell you this,’ Jesus replied. ‘If these people were quiet, the stones of the city would shout out instead!’

⁴¹ When Jesus got near to the city, he looked at it. He cried because he felt very sorry for the people in it.
